New name: Minth. Developed by James van Oosterwijk. Official website: minthai.pages.dev. Install version 1.0.88 on each PC; older installations do not update automatically. Existing chats, settings, encrypted credentials, voices and models keep their legacy storage paths; no data migration or new download is needed for the rename. The green symbol and white interface remain. Explicit YouTube commands now accept “open christmas hits on youtbe”, “you tube” and “you-tube”; this is bounded command matching, not improved speech recognition.

Is Minth free?
The app, local AI and local speech need no account, API key or usage credits. Model/runtime and optional speech downloads require consent and internet data. Hardware and network costs remain yours.
Do I need ChatGPT or Gemini?
No. Cloud AI and ElevenLabs are disabled in this public edition. Local Qwen2.5 1.5B runs on your PC after setup; existing verified files are reused. Older releases had different models/connections.
How good is the local model?
Experimental, not ChatGPT-level. The smaller Qwen2.5 model reduces CPU/RAM requirements, but speed still varies by laptop. Dutch and factual quality remain poor. Optional source excerpts are not verified current answers. No image understanding. Check important results.
Is everything private and offline?
Text inference and speech are local after setup. Downloads, optional DuckDuckGo web excerpts and explicit Google/YouTube commands use the internet. Only the current query is sent, not history or attachments. Web excerpts are off until enabled; then current public questions are searched automatically. Opened sites use normal browser cookies and their own privacy terms. Read privacy details.
Can Minth control my whole computer?
No. Up to 10 validated app/site launches, simple drawings, explicit Google/YouTube requests and Windows output volume percentages are supported. Ask first is the new-user default; Automatic is optional. No arbitrary commands, deletion, typing, clicking or app closing. Google verification and YouTube playback cannot be bypassed or guaranteed.
Can I combine YouTube and volume?
Yes: “play christmas hits on youtube and put my volume to 100”. Both clauses validate first. Ask first previews each; Automatic runs both. 100% can be loud. YouTube may still require Play; playback is not guaranteed. No arbitrary command chaining.
Can I use Minth on a Mac or phone?
Minth is Windows x64 only. No macOS, Linux, ARM or mobile build is offered here.
