Who developed Minth AI?
Minth AI is developed by James van Oosterwijk. Minth is a free, independent local-first AI workspace for Windows, with local text chat, English speech and validated desktop actions.
The app and the models are different
James develops the Minth app and its workspace experience. Minth uses third-party AI models and runtimes, including Qwen and llama.cpp. Their authors retain credit and their own licenses; James does not claim to have trained those models. Minth is not affiliated with OpenAI, Google or ElevenLabs.
Local-first, with clear limits
Local inference and speech run on your PC after consented setup downloads. Optional web excerpts and explicit website/search actions use the internet. Check important answers; local AI can make mistakes. The Windows installer is unsigned. See the setup guide, privacy details and current public release.
